Client Projects Installed

Once i get started on these things, I can't stop!

Tonight I got the Client Projects menu installed.  That involved:

  • Creating a content type called 'Client Project'
  • Creating imagecache presets for the thumbnail, inset and full image.
  • Adding the Superfish Menu Module to give the animated drop menus.
  • A little CSS tweaking to float the project image to the right side with a little white-space margin.

I created a Drupal Taxonomy term for the Drupal modules used in each project.  I wanted to associate these with nodes, to add more content for each module, but Node Auto Term (NAT) was not giving the results I was looking for.  This module just substitutes the node body for the term description.  Nice, but I want to add CCK fields to the display, along with a list of content that is assocaited with the term.

There is another lead for this, called Taxonomy Node Module. Then again, it's late, and I have to teach Yoga and attend the Minnebar tomorrow!

Update to Drupal 6

I took the time to update willince.com to a Drupal 6 website today.  It's about time.

For the move, I chose the Framework theme.  I am using it straight-out-of-the-box, because I like the cool blue accents and the Drupal logo.  That's what we are about.

I need to add some content types for client sites and start building it out, but at least we are up to date and have a decent theme going again.

I also secured wylbur.us as a domain today and am toying with the idea of using that as my business domain.  We will see about that!

Theming Drupal with PrimerCSS

Yesterday I posted a Tip at AdvantageLabs.com discussing Theming Drupal with PrimerCSS.  This is a great tip to make your life a lot easier when you start going at it hard with FireBug!

Here's the article:

Here's a quick tip to make Theming your Drupal website a little easier.

The Problem

For me, theming is a dance between my text editor, FireFox views of my Drupal website, and Firebug.  How many times have you looked in Firebug to find and modify an element's CSS properties, just to realized that there is no CSS declaration for the element in question? IF this happens to you all the time, you are in exactly the right place! Read more »

Drupal 5 to Drupal 6 Conversion - 1 Day!

Today I was able to convert an existing site from D5 to D6, along with about a hundred other tasks!  There was a lot of waiting around for queries and sumbits, but we got the job done on one day shift!

Just 24 more sites to go!

The New Developers War on Drupal 5

Apparently the Drupal Meta Tags module for D5 is not longer supported.  If you are using Update Status module (like I am) to keep track of new module releases, you will get a notice that you have an unsupported installed.  If you get email notices (like I do) you will get an email each day telling you of this unsupported module.   Read more »
